Chongqing Meteorological Observatory issued a red alert for high temperatures at 12:00 on July 31. It is expected that from 13:00 to 20:00 on July 31, in areas below 400 meters above sea level such as Yuzhong, Shapingba, Dadukou, Jiangbei, Jiulongpo, Nan'an, Liangjiang New Area, High-tech Zone, Beibei, Tongnan, Hechuan, Tongliang, Bishan, Jiangjin, Zhongxian, Wanzhou, Kaizhou, Yunyang, Fengjie, Wuxi, Wushan and other 21 districts and counties, the maximum daily temperature will rise to 40-43C; in areas below 600 meters above sea level such as Yubei, Banan, Dazu, Rongchang, Yongchuan, Qijiang, Wansheng Economic Development Zone, Nanchuan, Changshou, Dianjiang, Fuling, Fengdu, Liangping, Chengkou, Wulong, Pengshui, Shizhu and other 17 districts and counties, the maximum daily temperature will rise to 37-40C.
