National Bureau of Statistics data show that in July, affected by the traditional off-season for manufacturing production, as well as factors such as high temperatures and flooding disasters in some regions, the PMI decreased to 49.3%, indicating a decline in the manufacturing industry's business activity compared to the previous month. In terms of key industries, the PMI for the equipment manufacturing industry and high-tech manufacturing industry were 50.3% and 50.6%, respectively, both remaining above the critical point, with the high-end equipment manufacturing industry maintaining expansion; the PMI for the consumer goods industry was 49.5%, a decrease of 0.9 percentage points from the previous month; and the PMI for the energy-intensive industries was 48.0%, an increase of 0.2 percentage points from the previous month, indicating a slight improvement in business activity.
