Flights at the three main airports in London are disrupted due to a technical failure in the air traffic control system.
Due to a technical fault in the main air traffic control center, the regulatory authorities have had to restrict the number of incoming and outgoing flights. The UK's main air traffic control service provider, NATS, said in a statement: "Our engineers are working tirelessly to resolve the issue and are closely cooperating with airlines to minimize disruption." The statement pointed out that the affected center is located in Swanwick, in the south of England. The UK's largest and busiest airport, Heathrow Airport, has been affected, with interruptions in both arrivals and departures. London Gatwick Airport issued a statement saying, "No flights will depart until the issue is resolved." The smaller London City Airport has also experienced operational disruptions. This is a significant flight operation disruption that has occurred after Heathrow Airport was paralyzed for a whole day a few months ago due to a fire at a substation.
