Italian banking sector closes up more than 2.6%

The German DAX 30 index closed down 0.06% at 9130.71 points. The French stock index closed up 0.24%, the Italian stock index closed up 0.98%, the banking index rose 2.67%, and the UK stock index closed down 0.06%.
