The Baltic Dry Index hits a two-week low.
According to foreign media reports, the Baltic Dry Index fell for the fourth consecutive day, reaching a two-week low due to decreased demand for all types of ships. The Baltic Dry Index dropped 114 points, or 5.41%, to 1995 points compared to the previous trading day, the lowest since July 16. The Capesize Index fell by 290 points or 8.3% to 3186 points, marking a three-day decline and reaching a one-week low. The daily average earnings for Capesize vessels dropped by $2408 to $26422. The Panamax Index decreased by 52 points, or 3%, to 1689 points, the lowest since July 9, marking an 11-day consecutive decline. The daily average earnings for Panamax vessels decreased by $468 to $15203. The Supramax Index fell by 10 points or 0.8% to 1271 points, reaching a low point of over two weeks.
