Due to higher-than-expected production in the first half of July in Brazil, New York raw sugar futures prices have fallen for the first time in three days. According to data from the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, sugar production for the first 15 days totaled nearly 3.4 million tons. The industry organization Unica may release its sugarcane crushing report this week. Claudiu Covrig of Covrig Analytics stated that government data was higher than market participants' expectations, contradicting previous market expectations of a decline in sugarcane crushing during the same period.
