Recently, a research team from the Aerospace Information Innovation Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has made progress in the monitoring of methane emissions from landfill sites. They have developed a new method for accurately quantifying methane emissions from landfill sites using high-resolution satellite remote sensing technology, and based on this method, they have systematically evaluated landfill sites globally. The research results were published on the 28th in the international academic journal "Nature-Climate Change."
