Beijing Water Authority: The water flow has passed through Wucun sluice in Tongzhou District, exiting the city border.
According to the Beijing Municipal Water Authority, due to the impact of heavy rainfall in this round, the inflow of water in the upper reaches of Miyun Reservoir has significantly increased. In order to deal with the increase in upstream water and future rainfall, Miyun Reservoir began to release water at 3pm on July 27th. By 1:42 pm on July 28th, the water had flowed past the Wucun Sluice in Tongzhou District and out of the city limits. Currently, the amount of water being released to downstream from Miyun Reservoir has been increased to 600 cubic meters per second. Depending on the inflow situation of the reservoir, the downstream water release will be gradually increased according to the dispatching regulations. The relevant municipal water departments are monitoring the water levels in the river, the dam of the reservoir, and the safety of the embankments 24 hours a day. During the water release period, the water levels in downstream rivers such as Chaoriver, Bairiver, and Chaobairiver continue to rise. Residents in downstream areas such as Miyun, Huairou, Shunyi, Tongzhou, etc. are advised to stay away from the rivers to ensure their safety.
