On July 25th, in response to the Japanese government's allowance of Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council Minister Lin Chia-lung's entry into Japan for a visit, Chinese Embassy Minister-Counselor Shi Yong urgently lodged a solemn representation and strong protest with Yasuyuki Jinai, Director-General of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We emphasized that the Taiwan issue is at the core of China's core interests, and the One China principle is an inviolable red line that cannot be crossed, and political manipulation is not tolerated. The Japanese government, disregarding China's prior multiple representations, insisted on allowing Lin Chia-lung to enter Japan for a visit and allowed him to engage in provocative activities seeking "independence" within Japan. China will not tolerate this and demands that the Japanese government abide by the spirit of the four political documents between China and Japan and the solemn commitments made on the Taiwan issue. China will pay close attention to Japan's actions and respond accordingly.
