Because some products have mold, Korean confectionery company Haitai has decided to recall their popular fish-shaped snacks.
South Korean Orion Corporation announced that they have decided to recall two fish-shaped pies from the market due to mold found in some of the products, with a total value of approximately 1.5 billion Korean won. Orion Corporation stated that they have received complaints from consumers regarding the products in question this week, and after inspecting their production line, they speculated that there may be issues with some of their packaging equipment, leading to inadequate sealing of the food packaging. Combined with the recent high temperature and high humidity weather in South Korea, the products are prone to mold. Orion Corporation emphasized that the products in question are only sold in the South Korean market and production will be temporarily suspended before August 1st. According to the official customer service of Orion Corporation in China, similar products sold domestically are produced locally and do not include the two fish-shaped pies from South Korea. However, it was noted that some individual e-commerce platforms in China are still selling the products in question. Consumers are reminded to carefully check the production date and product condition before making a purchase.
