Ghana will issue licenses to cryptocurrency companies to meet the growing demand for digital assets.
According to reports, Ghana plans to issue licenses to cryptocurrency platforms in hopes of generating income while regulating the asset class used by millions in the West African country. The Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Johnson Asiamah, stated that the central bank is finalizing a regulatory framework that will be submitted to parliament in September. He mentioned that the proposed law will allow the country to utilize cryptocurrencies to promote cross-border trade, attract strategic investments, and collect financial data.
