Jia Ning, Director of the International Balance of Payments Division of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, stated at a press conference that in the past three years, the ratio of China's current account surplus to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has been around 2%. In the first quarter of this year, the current account surplus was $165.4 billion, and it is estimated that the surplus will narrow in the second quarter. Overall, the ratio of the current account surplus to GDP is generally within a reasonable and balanced range.
