The world's first ethanol-based aviation fuel plant is expected to go into production before the end of the year, one year later than originally planned.
Earlier this week, LanzaJet CEO Samazis stated that the company's factory in rural Georgia, USA is aiming to produce green aviation fuel using ethanol, and is expected to start operating by the end of this year. Samazis mentioned that the commercial production at the factory has been delayed due to equipment issues, with the original plan to start production last year. LanzaJet plans to initially use Brazilian ethanol for production, but intends to switch to using American materials as soon as possible, with Samazis advocating for lowering emission reduction thresholds.
