Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs: Promoting Stable Development of Pig Production

Huang Baoxu, director of the Livestock and Veterinary Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, stated at the press conference of the State Council Information Office that in the next step, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs will focus on two aspects of work to promote the stable development of pig production. The first is capacity adjustment. Increase the release of market warning information, guide orderly slaughter, accelerate the elimination of low-yield sows and weak piglets, adaptively adjust production capacity, and promote supply and demand balance. The second is to stabilize policies. Implement local responsibilities for stable production and prices of pigs, optimize measures for regulating pig production capacity, and strengthen the normalization of prevention and control of African swine fever, firmly holding the bottom line of preventing regional major animal epidemic outbreaks.
