In the first half of the year, a total of 552,000 fire incidents were reported nationwide, which is roughly the same as the same period last year.
This morning, the National Fire Rescue Bureau held a routine press conference to report on the national fire safety situation for the first half of this year. At the conference, officials in charge reported that in the first half of the year, the national fire rescue teams received and handled a total of 1.242 million various incidents, an increase of 7.7% compared to the same period last year. A total of 14.022 million fire rescue personnel and 2.536 million fire trucks were mobilized, rescuing 98,000 trapped individuals and evacuating 47,000 endangered individuals from disaster sites. In response to requests from local governments, 187 forest fires were extinguished in the first half of the year. Additionally, 3,799 forest fire patrols were conducted, with 913,000 personnel stationed in advance at 135 key locations in 26 provinces. In terms of fire incidents, there were a total of 552,000 reported fires in the first half of the year, resulting in 1,084 deaths, 1,149 injuries, and direct property losses of 4.08 billion yuan. Compared to the same period last year, the number of incidents increased by 0.04%, remaining relatively stable; deaths, injuries, and losses decreased by 6.2%, 16.9%, and 9.3%, respectively. There were 37 large fires, a decrease of 8 compared to last year; 2 major fires, remaining the same as last year; and no particularly serious fires, a decrease of 1 compared to last year.
