The number of mainland Chinese viewers at the Hong Kong horse racing season in the 2024/2025 year broke a record.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club stated on the 17th that the number of mainland Chinese spectators at the 2024/2025 Hong Kong racing season, which ended on the 16th, more than doubled compared to the previous year, reaching a record of nearly 200,000. Watching horse racing in Hong Kong has become one of the must-do sightseeing activities for visitors to Hong Kong. It was revealed that the total number of spectators for this season exceeded 1.7 million, with nearly 200,000 coming from mainland China, an increase of about 110% from the previous season's 93,000. The attendance of several major racing days reached new highs, with over 9,000 mainland Chinese spectators attending on Chinese New Year Race Day, the Hong Kong Derby Day, and Champions' Day.
