Today, it was learned at the press conference on the theme of "high-quality completion of the 'Fourteenth Five-Year Plan'" held by the State Council Information Office that China has made new achievements in the utilization of intellectual property rights. The State Intellectual Property Office has carried out a special action to promote the transformation and industrialization of a large number of patents, with the industrialization rate of enterprise invention patents increasing from 44.9% in 2020 to 53.3% in 2024. The proportion of value added of patent-intensive industries in GDP increased from 11.97% in 2020 to 13.04% in 2023. The total annual import and export value of intellectual property usage fees increased from 319.44 billion yuan in 2020 to 398.71 billion yuan in 2024, with an average annual growth rate of 5.7%. China ranks among the top in terms of PCT international patents, Madrid international trademarks, and Hague system design applications, and has acquired a large number of key core technology patents in areas such as artificial intelligence, information communication, new energy vehicles, photovoltaics, quantum technology, and biomedicine, providing strong support for technological self-reliance, new quality production development. The brand value of China's top 5000 brands has reached 17.6 trillion US dollars, ranking second in the world. The annual output value of geographical indication products has increased from 639.8 billion yuan in 2020 to 969 billion yuan in 2024.
