The game platform Roblox has launched multiple new features and enhanced security measures, including estimating user age through selfie videos to improve the platform's ability to protect underage users. Roblox announced that the newly introduced verified contact feature will allow users to chat freely via text or voice under specific conditions, and the content will no longer be filtered by the platform's built-in review filter for specific words. If the system determines that the user is under 13 years old, the account will be flagged; if the system cannot confirm the user's age, verification can be done through identification documents or later through parental consent. Roblox stated that the new measures allow teenagers to communicate more freely with trusted individuals on the platform, reducing their motivation to switch to third-party platforms for chatting and hence reducing the potential risks of exposure.
