National Bureau of Statistics: The GDP in the first half of 2025 increased by 5.3% compared to the same period last year.

According to the Zhitong Financial APP, on July 15th, the National Bureau of Statistics announced that in the first half of the year, the national economy withstood pressure, faced difficulties head on, overall economic operations were stable and improving, production demand showed stable growth, the employment situation was generally stable, residents' income continued to increase, new growth engines grew stronger, high-quality development made new progress, and the overall social situation remained stable. Preliminary calculations show that the country's GDP in the first half of the year was 66.0536 trillion yuan, calculated at constant prices, a year-on-year increase of 5.3%. Breaking it down by sector, the value added of the primary industry was 3.1172 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.7%; the value added of the secondary industry was 23.905 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.3%; and the value added of the tertiary industry was 39.0314 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.5%.
