On July 14th local time, the leading cloud computing company Amazon announced the preview of AI programming tool Kiro. Unlike other AI tools that simply generate code based on prompts, Kiro allows programmers to collaborate in defining requirements, system design, and tasks to be implemented before writing any code. This puts Amazon in direct competition with existing tools such as GitHub's Copilot and Google's Gemini CodeAssist. During the preview period, Kiro will be free with plans to introduce three pricing tiers in the future. Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said that Kiro "has the potential to change the way developers build software." (Science and Technology Innovation Daily)
