Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) recently announced that Professors Song Qinghai and Xiao Shumin's research team has made a significant breakthrough in the field of laser technology. They have successfully overcome the technical bottleneck of traditional laser mode spot shapes, polarization, and angular momentum limitations, and have developed a new type of laser light source that allows for the free adjustment of the emitted wavefront. This achievement marks a significant advancement in laser technology, transitioning from "fixed mode spots" to "customizable free control", which will greatly enhance the application potential of lasers in the fields of communication, computing, sensing, imaging, and more. The related research paper was recently published in the journal "Nature".
