The Indian Civil Aviation Administration issued a directive on the 14th, requiring all airlines in the country to conduct emergency inspections of fuel switches and their locking systems on certain Boeing aircraft before the 21st. This directive is based on a preliminary investigation report on an Indian aviation accident recently released by the Indian aviation accident investigation agency. The report stated that in an aircraft crash a month ago, the fuel switch of the aircraft involved was switched from "operating" to "cut-off" before the crash, leading to a disruption in engine fuel supply. The report also revealed that the US Federal Aviation Administration had issued a notice in 2018 advising operators of Boeing 787 and other models to inspect the locking function of fuel switches to ensure that they do not accidentally change position.
