Guangdong: Accelerate the integration and application of technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data, and artificial intelligence in the marine sector.

On the morning of June 3rd, the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial People's Congress held a press conference on the "Regulations of Guangdong Province on Promoting the High-Quality Development of the Marine Economy". Yu Jianhong, Deputy Director of the Legal Work Committee of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial People's Congress, introduced that the "Regulations" propose to cultivate and develop emerging marine industries to stimulate new momentum. They will guide and support electronic information companies to expand into the marine sector, accelerate the integration and application of technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data, and artificial intelligence in the marine field. They will promote the consolidation and improvement of the marine engineering equipment manufacturing industry, support the development of new marine equipment such as deep submersibles, unmanned vessels, and underwater robots. They will organize key technology research on marine biological genes, functional foods, bioactive substances, vaccines, and innovative marine drugs. They will improve the offshore wind power industry chain, promote technological innovation and demonstration applications of deep-sea offshore wind power, and conduct research on key technologies for the extraction of natural gas hydrates. They will conduct pilot projects on maritime and aerial traffic, low-altitude logistics, and all-space unmanned systems, strengthen the demonstration applications of low-altitude aircraft in areas such as water rescue and marine inspections, and support conditional regions in developing low-altitude economic emerging consumption projects in islands and coastal areas.
