Today is the second day of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, and the increase in medium and short-distance passenger flow is significant. The transportation department has increased capacity to ensure smooth travel. It was learned from the China Railway Group that yesterday, the national railways transported 18.116 million passengers. After experiencing the peak of passenger flow on the first day of the holiday, the overall passenger flow slightly decreased, with short-distance passenger flow continuing to increase. Today, the national railways are expected to transport 11.8 million passengers, with plans to add 658 additional trains. On the highways, it is estimated that the national expressway traffic volume will exceed 40 million vehicles on the second day of the holiday. Due to the short duration of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, self-driving trips will account for over 98% of the total, with most trips being short-distance within the province or neighboring provinces. It is estimated that the proportion of new energy vehicles will be around 20.5%, showing a significant increase compared to the same period in 2024. In civil aviation, yesterday the national civil aviation transported 1.911 million passengers, and today it is expected to transport 1.75 million passengers.
