Canadas wildfires continue to ravage many areas, causing residents to be evacuated.
Recently, wildfires continue to rage in many parts of Canada. In the provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan, approximately 25,000 residents have been evacuated. The Canadian wildfire season typically lasts from May to September. The latest data from the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre as of June 1st shows that there are over 170 active wildfires across Canada, with 89 of them still out of control. The severely affected provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan have already declared a state of emergency. In Manitoba, there are still over 20 wildfires raging, with around 17,000 people evacuated. The town of Flin Flon in the province had already ordered all its roughly 5,000 residents to evacuate overnight as the wildfires approached. Residents of several nearby remote towns and indigenous communities were also asked to evacuate. Most of the evacuees were relocated to the provincial capital of Winnipeg.
