In case of prolonged delay: Xindal is dead, these people are the next target.
On May 31st local time, the Israeli Defense Forces issued a statement confirming that in a joint operation with the Israeli National Security Agency on May 13th in Khan Younis, the Israeli Air Force launched an airstrike and killed senior Hamas military commander Mohammed Deif in the Gaza Strip. The IDF statement said that the airstrike also killed the Hamas Rafah Brigade commander and the Khan Younis Battalion commander. These Hamas members were operating in an underground command center below the European Hospital in Khan Younis at the time. The statement also mentioned that Mohammed Deif was one of the most experienced and highest-ranking members of the Hamas military organization, serving as the operational commander in the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel and playing a key role in planning and carrying out the attack. Mohammed Deif is the brother of the late Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. After Yahya Sinwar and former head of Hamas military department Mohammed Deif were killed in Israeli operations last year, Mohammed Deif became the leader of Hamas's military department in the Gaza Strip. Israeli Defense Minister Gantz also confirmed this news on the same day and warned that Yassir Hadad in Gaza and Khalil Hayya overseas, among other Hamas leaders, "you are the next targets". Hadad is the military commander of Hamas in Gaza City, while Hayya is a member of the Hamas political bureau based overseas.
