Floods in central-northern Nigeria have killed at least 151 people.

Local officials in Nigeria said on May 31st that the floods caused by heavy rains in Niger State in northern Nigeria on the 28th have resulted in at least 151 deaths. Ibrahim Hussaini, head of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency, told reporters over the phone that rescuers found more than 50 bodies of victims in the Mokwa area of Niger State on the 31st. The death toll from the floods has exceeded 150 people, and rescue efforts are still ongoing.
