Minister of Industry and Information Technology Zhang Yunming: China will focus on promoting the implementation of global development initiatives and deeply advancing the inclusive plan for building artificial intelligence capabilities.
From May 30th to 31st, the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) ICT Department Ministers' Meeting was held in Tokyo, Japan. Representatives from APT member countries, relevant international organizations, and industry participated in in-depth discussions on the theme of "Using Emerging Technologies to Promote Sustainable, Inclusive, and Fair Digital Transformation in the Region" and approved the "Tokyo Declaration". Zhang Yunming, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Zhang Yunming stated that China is willing to work with all parties to implement the consensus of the meeting and contribute to the development and prosperity of the Asia-Pacific region.
Firstly, to strengthen policy exchanges and promote regional coordination. Continuously engage in exchanges and communication on development policies and regulatory practices in the ICT sector, strengthen the coordination of positions on the global digital agenda, firmly uphold multilateralism, and collectively voice the Asia-Pacific region's opinions.
Secondly, deepen industrial cooperation to create growth momentum. Fully utilize cutting-edge technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing to accelerate the digital and green coordinated transformation, jointly explore new growth momentum and development paths.
Thirdly, enhance capacity building to achieve common development. China will focus on promoting the implementation of global development initiatives, deepen the AI capacity-building inclusive plan, support APT in playing a greater role through various means such as exchange training, talent development, and cooperative projects.
