Flooding in northern central Nigeria has caused at least 110 deaths.
On May 30th, local time, Ibrahim Hosseini, the Acting Director of the Emergency Management Agency in Niger State in central northern Nigeria, stated that flash floods caused by heavy rainfall have resulted in the death of 110 people and the destruction of several shops, houses, and farms in the Moquar local government area of the state. It was reported that on the evening of May 28th, heavy rainfall hit two communities in the Moquar local government area, lasting for several hours and causing the rapid rise of floodwaters that submerged many local buildings.
