Multiple new energy vehicle companies have released their May sales data. Leading the pack is BYD, with sales of nearly 382,500 vehicles in May, a year-on-year increase of over 15%. Among them, sales of pure electric passenger cars reached 204,400 units, up 39.6% annually, while sales of plug-in hybrid cars were 172,600 units, down 6.26%. Citigroup estimates that after BYD significantly lowered prices, foot traffic at their stores may increase by 30% to 40%. It is worth mentioning that in April of this year, BYD's sales of pure electric vehicles in Europe reached 7,231 units, a year-on-year increase of 169%, surpassing Tesla, whose sales of electric vehicles in Europe during the same period were 7,165 units, down 49%. BYD has surpassed Tesla and moved up in the rankings.
