Direct flights from Central Asia to Shanghai are now open.
Yesterday, the first direct passenger flight from a Central Asian country to Shanghai, China was officially launched. Today, the first passenger flight from Kazakhstan to Shanghai arrived at Pudong International Airport. The flight carried a total of 110 passengers, with a seat occupancy rate of 70%. According to the Shanghai border inspection station, nearly 80% of the incoming foreign tourists are here for tourism, while 20% are on business visits. Some Kazakhstani passengers mentioned that on their last trip to Chengdu, they had to first fly to Beijing for a layover before heading to Chengdu, making the entire journey last 10 to 12 hours. With the new flight route from Shymkent, Kazakhstan to China, travel has become much more convenient.
