Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said at an event hosted by Salesforce on Tuesday that the AI industry "doesn't need any new laws or regulations," reiterating his previous similar view that the idea of a trade-off between safety and speed in AI development is a "false premise." Huang said the two can absolutely be achieved simultaneously. "Companies can move at their own pace until they are confident that the products they launch will be accepted by the market. Market forces already exist. Companies are capable of deciding on their own not to release technologies or products that could cause harm." Earlier this week, Huang had a live phone call with U.S. President Trump during an event, with both pushing back against recent views that AI development should be slowed down.
