Authoritative expert: Financial aggregates are growing reasonably, and bond and equity financing are growing relatively quickly.
The People's Bank of China released its August 2026 financial statistics report on September 14, showing that at the end of August, broad money (M2) grew by 7.5% year-on-year, narrow money (M1) grew by 4.1% year-on-year, and the stock of social financing grew by 7.2% year-on-year. Authoritative experts said that China's social financing and M2 growth rates remain above 7%, broadly matching nominal economic growth, and the expansion of aggregate credit is not weak, but structural changes have occurred, with bond and equity financing growing rapidly while loan growth has slowed relatively. At present, China's financial aggregates are growing reasonably, and social financing conditions remain relatively accommodative.
