Midday Review: The ChiNext Index surged before falling back, dropping 1.3%. Stocks in the agriculture and grain sectors experienced a collective explosion.
The three major A-share indexes all declined in the morning session. By the lunchtime break, the Shanghai Composite Index was down 0.39%, the Shenzhen Component Index fell 1.09%, and the ChiNext Index decreased by 1.3%. The Beijing Stock Exchange 50 Index rose by 2.09%, while the Sci-Tech Innovation 50 Index dropped 0.71%. The total market turnover reached 1.6494 trillion yuan, an increase of 142.4 billion yuan compared to the previous day, with over 3,900 stocks in the market declining.
In terms of sectors, genetically modified organisms, agriculture and forestry, food concepts, pork, oil and gas extraction and services led the gains; while computing power leasing, AI data, cloud office, software development, and gaming sectors saw the largest drops.
On the market screen, influenced by the arrival of the "El Nio phenomenon," the food concept sector surged, with stocks such as Jin Jian Rice Industry, Nongfa Seed Industry, Beijing Grain Holdings, and Heizhima reaching their daily limit up. Qiu Le Seed Industry briefly hit a 30% daily limit up, with Kangnong Seed Industry, Shennong Seed Industry, and Dabeinong also performing strongly. The pork sector showed active performance, with Tianbang Foods and Luoniushan hitting their daily limit up, while Dayu Biology, Aonong Bio, and New Hope were among those with notable gains. The oil and gas extraction and services sector opened high and fluctuated, with Haiyou Engineering, Keli Co., and Sinopec Oilfield Services leading the rise.
The computing power leasing sector opened low and continued to decline, with Hongbo Co., Xingyun Technology, and Huijin Co. experiencing significant drops. The software development sector also showed weak performance, led down by Diheng Technology, Dipu Technology, and Green Alliance Technology.
