OCBC analyst Amanda Tan stated in a report that Intel's planned capacity expansion is expected to benefit the profitability of chip testing company AEM. After announcing its second quarter performance, Intel raised its 2026 capital expenditure from $18 billion to over $20 billion. The analyst mentioned that despite the high cost of wafer fabrication, front-end manufacturing will account for the majority of the investment, but Intel is also expected to expand its back-end capacity, which will benefit AEM, considered to be a major customer of Intel. At the same time, OCBC believes that Intel's comments are a positive signal for the broader semiconductor industry. Other customers of AEM may also experience similarly robust demand driven by artificial intelligence.
