Our country's installed generating capacity has surpassed 40 billion kilowatts.
The National Energy Administration announced on June 25th that by the end of May 2026, China's installed power generation capacity had reached 4.01 billion kilowatts, ranking first in the world in terms of scale. Non-fossil energy has become the absolute mainstay of power generation capacity increment, leading to a continuous optimization of the energy structure. The proportion of coal-fired power generation capacity has decreased from 61% in 2010 to 32% in May 2026; the proportion of non-fossil energy installed capacity has increased from 25% in 2010 to 62% in May 2026; the proportion of renewable energy installed capacity has increased from 24% in 2010 to 61% in May 2026. Large-scale and low-cost green electricity supply has laid a solid energy foundation for domestic industrial transformation and upgrading, guaranteeing electricity for people's livelihood, and cultivating emerging industries.
