The French Meteorological Service forecast shows that the city of Bordeaux in the southwest could reach a high temperature of 43 degrees Celsius in the afternoon of the 22nd, while the capital Paris could see temperatures rise to 39 degrees Celsius. According to the French Ministry of Education, out of the 60,000 schools in the country, over 800 have announced closures, and 1800 have adjusted their teaching schedules. Since last week, some schools in France have advised parents to keep their children at home, or pick them up at noon to avoid students staying in stuffy classrooms.
