From the flood season safety knowledge conference held today by the Ministry of Emergency Management, it was learned that according to predictions, this year's main flood season will still have a high number of extreme weather and climate events, with both drought and floods occurring simultaneously. The characteristics of the two rain belts in the north and south are obvious, and heavy flooding may occur in the Haihe River, Songhua River, Zhujiang River, upper reaches of the Yangtze River, and lower reaches of the Yellow River. There may be a higher number of strong typhoons making landfall. The northern region is predicted to have more rainfall, with a higher risk of flooding disasters. As the rain belt moves westward and northward, some southern areas may transition from floods to drought, making the flood prevention and drought resistance situation severe and complex.
