In the Qinghai Dachaidan earthquake zone, 80 junior high school students will prepare for exams on the spot, while 743 students will resume classes elsewhere.
On June 16th at 17:06, a 6.3 magnitude earthquake occurred in Da Qaidam Township, Haixi Prefecture, Qinghai Province, causing the normal education and examination preparation rhythm of local students in the third year of junior high school to be interrupted. In order to eliminate the adverse effects of the earthquake, the local education department will set up a standardized temporary examination area on the outdoor playground of the Da Qaidam Township central school for the 80 junior high school students taking the exam this year. By scientifically dividing the area, a stable and peaceful examination environment will be created for the students to ensure they can perform well in the exam. At the same time, in order to ensure that the teaching progress of non-graduating grades at the Da Qaidam Township Central School is not affected by the disaster, the remaining students in the school will be orderly transferred and relocated based on different student age groups. A total of 743 students will be transferred, including 448 elementary students, 157 junior high school students who will continue their studies at Gelmud Vocational and Technical School in Qinghai City for distance learning; 138 high school students will be placed at the Qinghai Chaidamu Vocational and Technical Institute for regular teaching.
