Wang Yi meets with Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sihasak.
On the 26th local time, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sihasak during the high-level meeting of the United Nations Security Council in New York. Wang Yi thanked Sihasak for attending this high-level meeting and expressed that China and Thailand both uphold and practice multilateralism, and are participants and beneficiaries of the global governance system. Thailand proposed to build a more strategic, forward-looking, and sustainable "Thailand Diplomacy 2.0". China welcomes Thailand to play a greater role on the international stage and work together to rejuvenate and revitalize the United Nations, promote the reform and improvement of global governance, and contribute to the cause of human peace and development. China appreciates Thailand's firm adherence to the One China principle and is willing to strengthen high-level exchanges with Thailand to further enhance the close relationship between the two countries. Both sides should accelerate the formulation of a new version of the China-Thailand Strategic Cooperation Action Plan, comprehensively plan cooperation in various fields, and promote the construction of a community of shared future for China and Thailand to yield new results. China supports Thailand and Cambodia in maintaining dialogue and consultation, consolidating the ceasefire situation, gradually rebuilding mutual trust, and peacefully resolving disputes, and is willing to continue to play a constructive role in this regard.
