The Taiwan Affairs Office: Attempt by the Democratic Progressive Party to distort the national identity of Taiwan compatriots will face historical reckoning.

When asked about Tsai Ing-wen's speech on the second anniversary of her inauguration, the domestic public opinion on the island pointed out that the Democratic Progressive Party's current strategy has gradually shifted from seeking "legal independence for Taiwan" to "cultural and substantive independence for Taiwan." Taiwan has never been a country, and it is impossible for it to become a country in the future. Chen Binhua stated that no matter what tricks Tsai Ing-wen and the Democratic Progressive Party come up with, it will be in vain, as they cannot change the fact that both sides of the Taiwan Strait belong to one China, they cannot sever the blood ties and affection between the Chinese people on both sides of the strait, they cannot erase the imprint of Chinese culture on Taiwan society and Taiwan compatriots, and they cannot stop the inevitable trend of national reunification. He stated that "Taiwan independence" and peace in the Taiwan Strait are incompatible, and he hopes that the people of Taiwan can see through the true face and malicious intentions of the Democratic Progressive Party authorities, firmly affirm their belonging to the Chinese nation, Chinese culture, and the great motherland, enhance their pride and determination as honorable Chinese people, and join us in resolutely opposing all forms of "Taiwan independence" separatist activities to safeguard the common homeland of the Chinese nation.
