An investigation into the incident has been initiated. United Airlines released a statement saying that Flight 169 had safely landed and taxied to the gate without any injuries to passengers or crew. The airline stated that their maintenance team is assessing the damage to the aircraft. The Federal Aviation Administration has also begun an investigation. The flight originated from Venice, Italy and was headed to Newark with a total of 221 passengers and 10 crew members on board.
