Long-term care insurance reduces the burden of care costs for the public by over 100 billion yuan.

Wang Wenjun, Deputy Director of the National Medical Insurance Administration, introduced at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office on March 26 that from the pilot launch in 2016 to now, the construction of the long-term care insurance system has gone through the process of "pilot, evaluation, expansion of pilot, re-evaluation, and launching comprehensive establishment". The pilot areas have increased from the initial 15 to 92 by the end of last year, covering 308 million insured persons and benefiting over 3.3 million disabled individuals. This has reduced the burden of care costs for the public by over 100 billion yuan.
