National Health Insurance Administration: 36 services urgently needed by severely disabled individuals have been included in the scope of long-term care payments.
On March 26th, the State Council Information Office held a press conference to introduce the relevant situation of speeding up the establishment of a long-term care insurance system. Huang Xinyu, the director of the Medical Services Management Department of the National Medical Insurance Administration, stated that the National Medical Insurance Administration has formulated a nationwide unified directory of long-term care services, including 36 services for severely disabled individuals in urgent need, such as assistance with eating, bathing, and oral hygiene. These services are included in the scope of long-term care payments. This includes 20 essential daily care services such as maintaining basic life needs, and 16 basic medical care services such as suctioning phlegm and catheterization.
