Changjiang Business School: The China Enterprise Operating Conditions Index in March has slightly fallen to 51.7.
Changjiang Business School announced on Thursday that the China Business Operations Index for March recorded 51.7, slightly lower than February's 52.4. This index consists of four sub-indices calculated as the arithmetic average. This month, three of these four sub-indices saw a decrease while one saw an increase. The Business Sales Outlook Index decreased from 69.1 last month to 63.6 this month. The Business Profit Outlook Index for this month was 48.9, down from 51.2 last month. The Business Financing Environment Index for this month was 47.4, compared to 48.7 last month. The Business Inventory Outlook Index for this month was 46.7, an increase from 40.7 last month. In addition to the above four indices, Changjiang Business School also asked about expectations on costs and prices in the questionnaire. The Business Labor Cost Outlook Index saw a slight increase this month, from 63.9 last month to 67.0 this month. The Business Total Cost Outlook Index had a slight increase this month, from 66.1 last month to 70.3 this month. The Consumer Price Outlook Index saw a slight decrease this month, from 58.3 last month to 54.3 this month.
