The first provincial-level policy supporting solar thermal energy in our country has been introduced.

The first provincial-level support policy for solar thermal in our country, "Several Measures to Promote the Scale Development of Solar Thermal Power Generation in Qinghai Province," was recently released. The measures point out that Qinghai will take the lead in promoting the development of the solar thermal power generation industry nationwide, actively guiding innovative resources to gather in solar thermal enterprises, forming a batch of key equipment, core technologies, intellectual property rights, and patents that are replicable and promotable, enhancing industrial competitiveness. At the same time, Qinghai will also focus on exploring the creation of solar thermal power generation "Belt and Road" flagship projects in Central Asia, West Asia, and other regions to enhance international cooperation in solar thermal power generation. It is understood that Qinghai is a region rich in solar thermal resources in the country, with a potential development capacity of about 10 billion kilowatts and an available area of about 100,000 square kilometers of "desert waste" land. As of now, Qinghai has completed a solar thermal power generation installed capacity of 710,000 kilowatts, with 1,350,000 kilowatts under construction, accounting for 39% and 53% of the national total, respectively, both ranking first in the country.
