Establishment activities of the China Institute of Strategic Research on Ecological Environment Engineering and Technology Development held in Beijing.

On December 26, the establishment ceremony of the Chinese Academy for Ecological and Environmental Engineering and Technology Development was held in Beijing. Minister of Ecology and Environment, Huang Runqiu, pointed out in his speech that the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core attaches great importance to ecological civilization construction and environmental protection. The Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Party has made major deployments for accelerating the comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development and building a beautiful China. The establishment of the strategic academy is an inevitable choice to meet the requirements of the times and serve the national strategic needs. It is also an innovative practice to integrate superior resources and enhance strategic consulting capabilities in the field of ecological environment. The strategic academy will closely focus on the strategic deployment of the Party Central Committee regarding the creation of a beautiful China and building a science and technology powerhouse, conduct in-depth research on major issues in the development of science and technology, and strive to produce high-quality strategic consulting results. It will keep up with the dynamics of global ecological and environmental science and technology development, strengthen the prediction and assessment of future technological trends, and lead the innovation direction in ecological and environmental engineering technology. It will explore the establishment of cross-departmental, interdisciplinary, and cross-domain operational mechanisms, promote broader and deeper cooperation, and continuously improve the level of development in ecological and environmental engineering technology and international influence. It will build a high-level talent team, stimulate the innovation vitality of talents, and accelerate the construction of a high-level ecological and environmental engineering technology think tank. At the establishment ceremony, key leaders from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Chinese Academy of Engineering signed a cooperation agreement to jointly establish the strategic academy. They announced the list of the first Advisory Committee, Academic Committee, and Administrative Committee of the strategic academy. Following the establishment ceremony, the inaugural meeting of the Academic Committee of the strategic academy was held.
