The Shanghai Futures Exchange released work arrangements for the New Year's Day period in 2026.
The notice issued by the Shanghai Futures Exchange states that, according to the announcement regarding the holiday schedule for 2026, the work arrangements for the New Year period are as follows:
1. There will be no night trading on the evening of December 31, 2025.
The market will be closed from January 1, 2026 to January 4, 2026.
On January 5, 2026, from 08:55 to 09:00, there will be a call auction for all futures and options contracts, and night trading will resume that evening.
2. Starting from the closing settlement on December 30, 2025, the margin trading ratio and price limit adjustments are as follows:
The price limit for gold and silver futures contracts will be adjusted to 15%, the hedging margin trading ratio will be adjusted to 16%, and the general margin trading ratio will be adjusted to 17%.
The price limit for the silver AG2602 contract will remain at 15%, the hedging margin trading ratio will remain at 16%, and the general margin trading ratio will remain at 17%.
In the event of circumstances specified in Article 13 of the Shanghai Futures Exchange Risk Control and Management Measures, adjustments will be made based on the above margin trading ratios and price limits.
3. After trading on January 5, 2026, from the closing settlement of the first trading day without a one-way market, the price limit and margin trading ratio adjustments will be as follows:
The price limit and margin trading ratio for gold futures AU2601, AU2602, AU2603, AU2604 contracts, and silver futures AG2601, AG2602, AG2603, AG2604 contracts will remain unchanged.
The price limit and margin trading ratio for other futures contracts will return to their original levels.
Other matters regarding price limits and margin trading ratios will be implemented in accordance with the Shanghai Futures Exchange Risk Control and Management Measures.
