Zhejiang: Promoting the Large-scale Development of Marine Clean Energy, Marine Electronic Information, and Other Industries.

Recently, the 21st meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress reviewed and passed the "Regulations on Promoting the High-Quality Development of Zhejiang Province's Marine Economy." This is the first comprehensive regulation in the field of marine economy in Zhejiang, marking a new stage in the strategic guidance and legal protection of Zhejiang's construction as a strong province in the marine industry. The Regulations will officially come into effect on March 1, 2026. The Regulations mention promoting the transformation and upgrading of traditional marine industries, fostering emerging and future marine industries, supporting the transformation and upgrading of key industries such as marine chemicals, marine vessels, marine engineering equipment, shipping services, marine tourism, and marine fisheries, and promoting the scale development of industries such as marine clean energy, seawater desalination, marine new materials, marine biomedicine, and marine electronic information.
