The Japanese government is set to launch a strategic partnership framework with the Southern Common Market trade group as early as Saturday to discuss strengthening economic ties. Sources revealed that the Japanese government plans to hold the first meeting under this framework early next year. Following multiple talks with the South American trade group composed of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay, Tokyo plans to initiate joint research on an economic partnership agreement. The topics expected to be discussed include enhancing trade and investment, as well as cooperation in the field of economic security such as the supply of key minerals and the promotion of renewable energy.
